I was hoping that the Liverpool/Chelsea tie would not take place again this season after some boring matches in the last four seasons but Arsenal and Fenerbahce were not able to progress to the semis after their losses in the second leg.
Once again it showed that Arsenal lack the strength and depth to last the whole season but at the same time I also think that they could easily have won at Anfield had Emmanuel Adebayor converted what looked like an easy chance with the score tied at 2 all.
In the last three times Liverpool played Chelsea in this competition they were victors but the difference this time is that the second leg is at Stamford Bridge and that could turn the tie in Chelsea's favour especially if they can avoid a defeat at Anfield or lose by no more than one goal.
Rafa Benitez, the Liverpool coach has proved once again that he specialises in the European knockout competition but with Everton just three points behind Liverpool may need to concentrate on the league as well this season in the last few matches unless they are certain of winning the trophy in Moscow or else they will lose their place in next season's competition.
I think Manchester United will overcome Barcelona in the other tie because the Catalan giants are far from convincing this season.
The first leg will be played at Nou Camp and so United have the advantage of playing the second leg at home.
If Lionel Messi comes back in time for those two matches then things could change but as it is right now Barca are finding it hard to score goals in the La Liga even at home.
So there is going to be one English team in the final and its up to Barcelona to make sure that the final in Moscow is not an all English affair.
AC Milan stopped that from happening last season and went on to lift the trophy and lets wait and see if Barca can do the same this
time.
