As anyone following the football betting news will know, Terry and Lampard have led Chelsea’s rise in the Premier League from an uncompetitive outfit struggling to make the top four consistently, to one of the most feared clubs in world football. Although they failed to make the Champions League knockout stage this season, last May’s emphatic final victory over Bayern Munich propelled the club into European football’s elite band of clubs and Terry and Lampard played integral parts during that long campaign.
Yet speculation over their future continues to rumble on and with neither player close to agreeing new contracts, the walls of Chelsea’s successful team are about to come crumbling down.
Lampard’s current deal expires this summer while Terry’s has 18 months to run, meaning that both players could be out the door by this time next year.
Luckily for Blues fans, the club have already given left-back Ashley Cole a new one-year deal. Cole may be 32 but he is nevertheless still one of the world's best, if not the best, in his position and unarguably vital to Chelsea’s title challenge next season, with the Blues currently not being backed ahead of the Manchester clubs by those looking ahead to the future bet365 football betting odds.
This should prove the same for Terry, who can still handle defensive duties despite a lack of pace and occasional injury scares; while Lampard has grown into an even greater midfield general this season after accepting responsibility as the central point the side rotates around.
Last season Andre Villas-Boas tried to exile the English core to devastating effect and was quickly dismissed, before Lampard and co. returned to win the Champions League and FA Cup. Although owner Roman Abramovich may want to faze out the old guard, it would be folly to dismiss a pair proven still capable at the top level of world football.
Eurosport has shown all the six matches live so far and there are also highlights of the first match before the second match is broadcast.
Last year the channel also showed the matches live and this is good because before the were some highlights of only the final on SBS.
For the group matches, the first match kicks off at 2am EST with the second match kicking off three hours later.
So its quite possible to catch up the second half live action as this starts around 6am.
So far five matches have been drawn with Mali being the only winner so far.
I hope we will see more goals as the tournament progresses and as team begin to take more risk instead of just playing to avoid defeat.
